Fishing in Andalucia

And so the fishing,

I have already tried a bit along the Atlantic coast at Barbate estuary (Cadiz) and to Mediterranean coast at Estepona and Marbella (close to Malaga). All fishing done whitin 2 hours of high tide. It desn't matter much for Mediterranean coast, but is very important for Atlantic, where the question is there is water or not at all :). I have managed a small Seabass at Barbate and not much more. The next time I have tried at Conil de la Frontera 2 hours before high tide. Plenty small seabass at the estuary itself and some bigger once at the very entrance to the river.
Fishing the Atlantic is not that easy. You need to constantly change your spots due to changing current. Wind is always present and can get very disturbing. But the fishing can be very rewarding.

Weekend on Red Sea, Eilat

Just a short family weekend.
Friday morning about half an hour before the sunrise I came to local Marina. There was some predator activity going on. I set my 8 wt and a barracuda fly with metal wire. On a second cast someone just bit it off. While changing the fly, I tied olive Clouser, all the activity was gone. After a while of casting, a nice bite and a first trumpet fish landed. I had three more this morning. Next morning those trumpets were biting on nearly every cast. But no other species caught this time.

19 May the Seabass Saturday.

Last saturday the 19 May, we are out for a sea session.
It is a good seabass season this time of the year.
As we have heard from other guys the fish starts taking after the sun is up.
We decided to check out a piece of rocky beach next to Netanya.
So we had a cup of tea and started to walk.
Jimmy was fishing with spinning rod and topwater lures and I was fishing a fly.
We find the first current, I have started with tandem of olive clouser no.6 hook and a small BMS fly above it.
A good bite and first bass comes to visit.
We have tried to catch some bream, without much success. Many bream are present, but we could not convince them to take a fly.
On our end point is another good current, and the waves were starting to get a bit high to walk on the reef.
2 good size bass one after another take my olive clouser.
An we are on our way home.
This is One great day...
